Live poker games often make use of burn cards to eliminate improper actions by the dealer and to prevent the use of marked cards. These factors do not apply online and burn cards are not used at Absolute Poker. The absence of burn cards does not in any way affect the randomness of the next card from the deck, or the odds of receiving a particular card during the remainder of the deal. When figuring out the odds of cards to come, calculations are always based on the number of cards seen (dealt) versus unseen (possible to be dealt). The lack of burn cards does not factor into odds calculations.
We use email validation to verify a player’s email address before they are allowed to use our software. Requiring all players to validate their email addresses helps us reduce the risk of fraud.
When you open an Absolute Poker account, we will email you a 5-character code. Depending on your email filters, our email may be misdirected to your 'Junk' or 'Bulk' folder. Please check these folders for our email and add our address to your list of safe senders. The next time you launch Absolute Poker’s software, you’ll be asked to enter the 5-character code found in our email before logging in. If you fail to receive your validation code, please email support@absolutepoker.net and we will gladly help you right away.
Absolute Poker employees, consultants, and anyone else who has access to inside information (such as complete hand histories, playing histories, and other sensitive information) are not allowed to play in fun money games or tournaments. This will prevent any potential abuse of inside information at the tables.
At Absolute Poker, we do not allow players to change their usernames. The policy is largely for security purposes. Players identify each other by their usernames. If we enabled players to change their usernames, then other players would have no idea who they were playing with. At physical poker rooms changing your identity is impossible. As a result, we feel that allowing players to change their identity online should also not be possible. This policy is designed to protect you as a player and helps us maintain a high level of integrity and security at Absolute Poker.
We have designed special Hot Key buttons that allow you to play using your keyboard. Our hot keys let you call, fold, check and raise with the push of a button. Select Options from the main menu bar in the poker room, and then click on the Hot Key box to enable this feature. The hot keys are as follows:
We’ll gladly help you retrieve your password. Before proceeding, please remember that your password is case sensitive.
If you can’t remember your password, you can request it from the login window by clicking on the "Forgot Password" button and it will be emailed to the email address that Absolute Poker has on file. You may also request to have your password sent to you from the Main Lobby by selecting "Forgot Password" from the “My Account” menu. You will be asked to enter your email address that you have registered in your User Profile. Your password will then be immediately emailed to you.
If you have a lot of player notes and use different computers to access Absolute Poker we will ask if we can import all your 'player notes' information. We will then give you complete access from any computer in the future. Please note that we can import player notes from only ONE computer. Please be sure to run this upgrade on the computer you use for the majority of your online poker play.
